Friends,
I just received the following msg from Manos SV9ANF. I don't do any UHF
operating so I would appreciate help answering his question. Please respond
to me direct via: k7bv@aol.com.

<<Dennis I want to ask you to help me find a 23cm Transverter. Here in Greece
and in Europe is very difficult to find. Everybody wherever I asked they
prompt me to look in your country. Looking on the Internet I found a site:
http://www.downeastmicrowave.com/1296.htm
The model is: 1296-144 1296MHz transverter, 3W output, <1.0DBNF, separate
144MHz IF's, with T/R switch
part n.:DEM Part Number 1296-144
The cost is 395.00 $.
Tell me what do you think? Do you know any other type?>>

Subject: [CQ-Contest] UK-Contest reflector
Message-ID: <200005151621.RAA08545@lonfs01.lsil.com>

In order to provide a location for the discussion of contest items which are of
a more specific interest to those in the UK, than those discussed on
cq-contest,
a new reflector has been set up.

It is not intended that this should remove traffic from the cq-contest one but
add an area where discussion of more local contests, claimed scores etc can
take
place.

I have included a copy of the FAQ for further details.

If you wish to subscribe please send an e-mail to
uk-contest-request@contesting.com with SUBSCRIBE as the body of the message.

Our thanks to Bill and the contesting.com crew for providing this service for
us.
