 When I

going

>your own.

Having written the NCJ Contest Tips, Trick, & Techniques for the last 10
years or so, I have found the opposite. Many world class contesters have
freely contributed their ideas to that column. That does not even consider
all of the information shared on this mailing list.

There are probably a few secrets from time to time like newly developed
special SO2R techniques or equipment, but they get out to the mainstream
fairly quickly. A lot of the other 'secrets' apply to very narrow
situations, and would be of limited use to others with different stations,
locations, etc.

Reviewing past NCJ's and this mailing list could give a new contester a big
head start. An updated version of the Contest Cookbook could do the same. I
think more 'secrets' would be left out of a book because of space
limitations than because they were truly secret.
