Oven,

After several years of lurking, it would seem that this group is ripe
for an official amateur radio contesting FAQ to be created and maintained..
unless there is already such a beast that I missed. I haven't seen one
mentioned, but the need is apparent.

Speaking of FAQ's, I saw a message a few after this, about software not
liking the LU who was signing /H in his callsign. What does the CQWW
committee recommend on logging the following 'portable' extensions ?? There
was a reference to signing /QRP in this weeks OPDX bulletin.

xx#zzz/p
xx$zzz/qrp
xx$zzz/mm maritime mobile, and if so, do I need a region R# designator too
?
JA#xxx/# is a common one .. perhaps it is still a legal requirement in some
countries ??

as well as others that I can't recall at the moment <grin>. Would also like
to hear the ARRL opinion if it differs materially from CQ's.

btw, I heard a rumor that the LU signing the slash H was activating a rare
region of LU .. perhaps to promote some clubs groups award (?) ... but I
only vaguely recall hearing that implied in a qso he was in before I worked
him .. ! That was so many Q's ago <grin>
