No, because not all competitors have internet or cellphone.
And I'm talking about honest entrants here, not cheaters.

I hope it will not.
Online scores are not the same as watching football game on TV.
It is more like listening to a football game on the radio when
only the score is being reported every 5 minutes and nothing more.

I hope you do not propose the receiver output being broadcast 
on internet in real audio so it looked like watching football 
on a sofa.

I'm trying to figure it out. What would be the motivation of
a spectator to jump in? Probably the desire to help his
friend/heighbour/compatriote. That's where fairness ends.
They don't allow spectators to take part in the game to help
their team, do they? 
Do you call it a fair game where some teams can use 3rd party 
assistance, while others can not.
