Hi,
I have been "awarded" the task of trying to repair a TS950S and although I've
repaired several TS940's, never a 950.
The story behind how the fault occurred is that the original owner attached a
new microphone using the mic socket as a means of holding the mic plug when
soldering the lead.....don't laugh, he thought it was a good idea at the time.
Now, when powered on it receives for about 5 seconds and then goes into
transmit mode without the mic attached or the VOX switched in.
If it was the 940 I would immediately suspect Q6 on the Control Board....but
alas I have no service manual for this 950 beast.
Any help you can offer would be most appreciated aside from throwing in the
ocean!!!
