This is exactly the kind of publicity required to obtain sponsors for
plaques, and all of us who play in this game should be grateful not only to
the people who put their money on the line to sponsor the plaques but also
to John for making the effort to line up sponsors.
I just did a quick survey of plaque sponsors for ARRL DX CW, and noted there
were 41 plaques sponsored in 2000, 41 sponsored in 2001, 34 sponsored in
2002, and only 29 supported awards in 2003. (And most noteworthy to Yuri
and me (!), nothing for non-US M/S this year.) Is this a trend?
