This is a sad day for me. While living in the Wausau, WI area in the late
70's & early 80's, Reno was the guy who got me, as a new novice & a 13 year
old
punk kid, interested in contesting, by letting me have a crack at the W9SM
field day station in 1978.
While Reno was active during the SS, he would answer my CQ's with a remarks
such as " you are getting better at this!", "why isn't your number higher?"
or, just a W9north america...
What neat guy...
