Brett
For my Mk V
All I do is turn off the keyer by pushing the keyer button on the front of
the MP and I can use a straight key or external keyer.
Menu items 7-0 to 7-6 refer to keying setup.
If you need more info I have the rig switched on and the manual on the desk!

Could somebody quickly please tell me how to tell an MP that
it's connected to an external key, instead of an external paddle
that is meant to trigger the radio's internal keyer?

Ta.
