Back in old country and old days, the callsign was assigned to STATION and
OPERATOR. Exception were club stations. If you wanted to operate from somewhere
else you needed to sign /M, /MM, /P. Now with liberalized FCC rules things
changed.
Clever contesters will look hard for loopholes how to get them extra points
and as technology advances, there is more need for tightening the rules, so
they are clear.
Publishing contest logs after the contest will go long way to eliminate
"creative" operating, by having competition oportunity to examine logs and
point
out problems. Way better than 3 QSO "penalty".

Another silly (if not stooopid) rule doing what? Preventing me to put 300,000
phony W QSOs in the log?
