The solution to the problem is simple.  Just eliminate the exchange.  
It meaningless and assumed, anyway.
For example:
me: W2UP TEST
him: S56A/3
me: S56A/3 TU
next him: W2UP de DL1XXX
etc.

I feel sorry for poor AD1C.  He's trying to be helpful and is just 
getting grief.  At least he's a responsive volunteer :.)
