And I will say to Ken K6LA the almost exact thing I said to him when he
raised a similar stink about the team selection criteria four years ago in
Finland:

(1) It is OK for those who wish to sponsor teams like RD3AF in 2006 and
A61AJ in 2002 to (1) help finance the "expensive" games, and (2) choose
whomever they desire to populate their sponsored team. And, Ken has the
definite option to similarly sponsor a team, put himself on the team, and
even choose a team mate. This definitely qualifies for the PUOSU Award
(Put Up Or Shut Up)

and

 (2) his criticism of Martti OH2BH in 2002 for selecting N6AA and N6TJ as a
team Ken labeled at the time, just like he has done again this year, "an old
boys club" is 100% insulting to all of us involved, and Ken should know
better. Perhaps THAT is too much to hope for??

and finally,

(3) if Ken doesn't like the way the games are run, or the teams selected,
then HE should organize the next games, and show the world how it really
should be done. Another PUOSU opportunity??

In 2002, after the very successful Finland games, I was asked by my
Brazilian friends if I would please "help" sell the WRTC Organizing
Committee to allow Oms PY5EG, Sergio PP5JR, and Walter PP5WG to organize and
host these 2006 games. And with considerable "persuasion" by my friends
OH2BH, W6OAT, K3EST, and others, these games are about to become a reality.

WRTC will never be perfect, and no matter how hard Oms, Sergio, Walter et al
try, there will be the critics. And that's just the way life goes, I
suppose.

However, I think it is grossly unfair - no, it's an embarassment - that the
ilk of K6LA will challenge our Brazilian friends, who are busting their
butts to put this monumental task together, in a public forum, that somehow
their steak fell in the fire, and show the world what cry babies they are.

Since 2002, Ken and everyone else had the opportunity to make sure their
scores were going to be the best in the world. They didn't, and they have
no one to blame but themselves.

Please QRT with these distractions and allow Oms to concentrate on the
important few months ahead. This kind of pathetic "help" is definitely not
needed.

Jim Neiger N6TJ / ZD8Z
(definitely one of the OLD boys club)
