Bet we have to look at contesting much wider ... and normally most do.
MOST people take part in contests NOT to win, because they don't have
the necessary setup and / or skills and / or enough time. They (like me)
take part to have a LOT of FUN.
As actual being more a DXer than a contester it's for me just the fun to
work different DXCC, especially the hard ones like Pacific from here.
That shows in the results ofcourse.
With a 500 W PA and a vertical GAP Titan (and a lot time spend for QRL
duties) I managed to make 658 QSOs with 462 multipliers. Ofcourse 593k
is nothing worth if I'd think about winning, even in my category in my
country ...
But the FUN let me use cluster network and try to work more mults like
100+ DXCC on 40m.
And I must admit since I started using N1MM-logger in WW DX CW 2004 I
got much more fun in contesting and improved my results in most contests
I take part in (5-6 a year).
