Yes - you can do it that way.

I think this example might help...

We will ignore that an off-time has to be at least 30 minutes for this.

If you have the following two QSOs - you have NO off time:

QSO: 14000 CW 2006-11-04 2102 W7RM          5 B 67 OR  W9IOP       2 B 52 NFl
QSO: 14000 CW 2006-11-04 2103 W7RM          6 B 67 OR  N0NI        4 Q 77 Ia

If you have the following two QSOs - you have a minute of off time.

QSO: 14000 CW 2006-11-04 2102 W7RM          5 B 67 OR  W9IOP       2 B 52 NFl
QSO: 14000 CW 2006-11-04 2104 W7RM          6 B 67 OR  N0NI        4 Q 77 Ia

Where 2103 would be the off minute.  It is not two minutes off (2104 - 2102).
