Which brings up this question...

A few years ago, we were all dreading the "plasma" TV
problem. They were quite noisy and many a horror story
was related here on this reflector. Plasma's haven't gone
away (in fact they seem to be very popularity in the
home TV market) but the horror stories seem to have
disappeared. Did the manufacturers do their homework
or do I still need to dread the possibility of a
neighbor getting one someday?
