I know many of you knew Lanny if not personally, then on the air.
I have known Lanny since we were both novices in Ft Worth in the
50's. We were both teenagers and were both very active on the air even back
then. I still have the QSL (KN5HTM) he sent me from our first QSO on
CW in the novice bands.
We visited each other at our homes, had all night "on the air"
parties... our version of the girls slumber parties, chased DX together
attended club meetings together, and operated field day together among many
other things.
We talked on the air and telephone almost daily back then.
Later when I moved away from Ft Worth, I could always count on K5LP
as a contest contact and he always had time to say hello.
He has often given me free help with legal things as he has many,
many hams I know.
Lanny will be missed terribly.
