Hi guys!

We've been waiting to do this this announcement by the end of
June. Since Dmitry has posted it already you can go to the direct link
 http://www.srr.ru/CONTEST/zayavka_ochnye_08.php

This is unfortunately in Russian but you can recognize participant's
calls for sure.

1st column - ##
2nd column - team region
3rd column - team members
4th column - team referee - to be assigned to other teams
5th column - team official (can be of of team members)
6th column - team tech support
7th column - application date

There are 20 teams on listed on our WEB page already but a few
applications are not published yet.

As it says the rules of RRTC are very similar to IARU ones. We have
special modules for WriteLog, TR and UA1AAF contesting software to run
the contest but we also wish more contest software people get their
software adopted.

BTW, there will be special series of call signs used for this event
like R33AA - R33FZ !!! So, look for these ones.

CU on the bands from RRTC (WRTC-2010) fields.

DBR> The following information was published in May on the website
DBR> of SRR (Russian Amateur Radio Union).

DBR> Russian Radio Team Championship 2008

DBR> About the contest
DBR> -----------------

DBR> The Russian Radio Team Championship (RRTC) is an annual head to
DBR> head "Field Day" style competition which is organized by the
DBR> Russian Amateur Radio Union (Soyuz Radiolyubitelei Rossii - SRR),
DBR> originating in the USSR in 1980. In 2008, twenty teams of two
DBR> operators will be invited, which represent the many different
DBR> regions of the Russian Federation. On the threshold of the
DBR> approaching WRTC-2010 event, the rules of the competition were
DBR> changed to closely mirror those of the upcoming WRTC, and the
DBR> rules for outside participants were also adapted to mirror those
DBR> of IARU HFC. So, the Russian Radio Team Championship can be
DBR> considered as a "dress rehearsal" of the future WRTC event.

DBR> In 2008, participants will be competing in the Greater Moscow
DBR> region, about 60 km to the south from the city, a flat rural area
DBR> which is mainly agricultural in nature. The distance between team
DBR> positions is roughly 0.5 kilometer, so the antennas of the
DBR> nearest two or three teams will be visible from each operating
DBR> position. Organizers will supply teams with food, identical
DBR> tents, tables, chairs, 220 V gas generator and gasoline, 10m-high
DBR> steel sectioned tower and a tri-band antenna. Teams are required
DBR> to bring their own 100 W (limited) transceivers, computers and
DBR> peripherals, 40m-band IV dipole, antenna switching devices,
DBR> filters etc. Participants of Russian Radio Team Championship are
DBR> also responsible for base camp set-up, as well as all antenna
DBR> assembly & tower assembly/raising.

DBR> Participants can make QSOs among themselves and the rest of the
DBR> world, so everybody is invited to the party. Usually the basic
DBR> activity on the bands is generated by Russian radio amateurs; to
DBR> raise QSO rates, the teams use new callsigns and exchanges every
DBR> two hours. On average, 1300 QSOs by the top teams are not
DBR> uncommon during the eight-hour contest. There is no limitation on
DBR> band or mode changes, although only one signal can be transmitted
DBR> at one time.

DBR> Every team will be accompanied by an official contest referee,
DBR> who will monitor all actions & the audio signals. Each referee
DBR> will be assigned randomly to teams from a pool of qualified
DBR> referees provided by teams. The rules for the teams are complete
DBR> in detail, any deviation from the published rules is strictly
DBR> prohibited. During the contest period, an audio recording will be
DBR> made for each team. Online scores will be made available via the
DBR> internet. After the competition ends, email logs will accepted
DBR> from around the world during a four hour period immediately
DBR> following the end of the contest. After that, computer checking
DBR> of the logs will commence, and the final results will be ready
DBR> the following morning.

DBR> So, immediately following IARU HFC 2008, one will have a good
DBR> chance to check propagation conditions, estimate signal levels of
DBR> 100W / small tri-bander stations from the heart of Russia, and
DBR> get some advance preparation for WRTC-2010.

DBR> Rules for outside participants
