Hi 'all,
I just read Hal W1NN's post from a few days ago on the most memorable advice
he remembers, which was a suggestion somewhere around 1960. to learn to
learn to send while holding your pencil so you don't have to keep picking it
up and putting it down throughout the contest.
I am left-handed, but for some reason I learnt to pump the straight key with
my right hand, and later carried this over to paddles. Maybe that was why I
found that contesting was where it's at :-)
Alas, the realization that some skills go out of use, with the advent om
computer logging... Maybe it's an omen that the advice was given in an
article by KH6IJ, since I will go from Sweden to Hawaii in November to run
the CW SS SO from KH6IJ, and be active and loud from the PAC section.
There are 11 time zones between us, will this be a traveling record? Won't
touch down much in the continental US except on airports, otherwise it would
be wonderful to meet some of all I have worked over the years from various
club stations. Later his wonderful gang and I will do the CQWW CW in the M2.
Best,
Goran
