Certainly worth repeating, and there is a need to pass
this info better to those outside this reflector!

YES! One of my most common thoughts when running.
I can do the other extreme, but I prefer to use my narrowest filter
when S&P (dig out weak ones) and then leave it narrow for run.
--Narrow for S&P aids in being closer to QNZ--; narrow for run helps
with noise and QRM. I usually leave the RIT on for running, but
I make a point to hit its zero button after every use.
Better QNZ while S&P helps us get through (unless the CQ
station forgot his RIT); but, best of all, it also means less QRM
for all the other stations nearby!
