One thing is certain, a mile or so from the beach and 900' ASL, these
problems practically disappear.
At 6Y1V, there is little to no corrosion evident after two and a half
years of service, inside or outside of the shack.

Sounds like someone needs to make rigs/amps/computers to Mil-std-810
(can't remember the part - but "Salt spray and corrosion"). It can be
done, and I'm sure if you dig up the right "green colored" radio, it'll
work fine <grin>. I tested enough electronics to the various 810 Rev C
and D (I think they are up to Rev F now) to know it can be done - then
again, probably cheaper to replace the gear
