Yes, a 300 Hz filter will work just fine on RTTY, especially during the 
crowded conditions during CQWW and ARRL Roundup contests. Theoretically you 
can narrow down to 265 Hz before you begin to degrade a standard 45.45 baud 
170 Hz RTTY signal.. There was a technical discussion on the RTTY reflector 
regarding this topic within the last couple of weeks.
