I am planning to go to Bonaire for CQ WPX 2010 for M/S. It would likely
have been with three ops (KU8E for sure). With the rule change, I guess
two ops will be all that we can keep busy. But, I am concerned that
the programmers for the older logging programs that I like to use (CT
and NA) will not be able to reprogram the programs to have just one
series of numbers, rather than number QSOs by band. Oh well, I guess
that can be accomplished by telling the programs that you are single op
and then changing the Category in the Cabrillo file. I'd prefer that
the rules for this category not be changed. I agree that there can be
little for the second station and op to do later in the contest, but it
is still a challenge to find new mults to work and makes the internet
spots valuable, thereby putting our second station in a position to post
spots itself. All of that will be lost under the new rule and a lot of
the effort we have put into a small multiop station in the Caribbean
will be overkill for the WPX contests, at least. 73, John, K4BAI/PJ4A.
