We need RBN stations in Africa to help fill out the worldwide coverage
of the Reverse Beacon Network. In order to encourage participation, I'm
offering an assembled Softrock 6.2 Lite 20M receiver free of charge to
the first volunteer who commits to put it on the air and on the RBN.
All this receiver needs is a computer (something in the last 5-8 years
will be plenty) with a 96-KHz sound card. You attach an antenna and 12
VDC, and feed the audio output to the two channels of your sound-card.
Download the free aggregator software, follow the instructions on the
RBN web site - <http://reversebeacon.net>, and your Reverse Beacon will
be on the air.

This isn't totally cost-free - the CW Skimmer software is required and
costs US$75 from VE3NEA, after a 30-day full-featured free trial. But
it's a pretty cheap way to experiment with a Software Defined Receiver
(SDR) and at the same time help out your fellow contesters and DXers.

So who'll be first?
