If I remember correctly, the idea behind dropping ten minute rule was to equalize the playing field and let those "primitive" Multy Singles who only has one radio and several operators to be on par with big MS stations. Forbidding dueling CQ on the same band was another rule change made with the same aim. If that was the objective it has not worked. At the same time this rule change made WPX less appealing for medium size MS stations who are not capable of simultaneously listening and transmitting on the same band and use lockout to maintain just one signal. I think 10 min rule should be brought back in order to increase MS participation.

When "NO MULT station 10 minute rule" was introduced to WPX 3 years
ago we said "Oh, NO" to it. The time has past. We adopted to it and
now enjoy it very much.

The are few advantages:

- improvement of S&P technique at your station
- improvement of your team work
- you see real serial numbers (not by band)

Rules are the rules. They are equal for everyone, so just follow them.
