I would love a contest like the W1BB for the HF bands. No continents, no rare
zones, no rare countries, no rare states, no rare prefixes just pure DX mano a
mano around the globe. No signal report just grid and a H,L or Q indicating
your power level e.g. NK98Q. The only multipliers are the Xmit (a la FD) and
copied (a la W1BB) power levels and everyone gets ranked together.
Back to reality....see you all in the 10m! 73 Bob HS0ZIA

I bet the concept is very popular on the left coast and we in the SE would
love it. I'm not too sure about the guys in W1-land. It also levels the
field for zone 8 and zone 9.

The topic of distance-based scoring comes up consistently and many
contesters seem to be in favor of it, but somehow it never gains any
traction beyond the Stew Perry. I wonder how many contesters are
actually AGAINST distance-based scoring for major contests, and what
their reasons would be.
