The majority of you have probably heard of the Pirate QSO Party from my
previous emails, announcements, or the ARRL Contest Update, but if not,
now's the time! This lighthearted two-hour contest will be hosted on Talk
Like a Pirate Day this Friday, September 19, from 6:30 to 8:30pm PDT
(9/20/14 from 0130 to 0330 UTC). How often do you get to steal doubloons,
exchange pirate banter, and fight together with a Red or Black ship of
pirate mates during an on-air event? For more information, please visit

Now for the update: It's definitely last-minute, but we have a basic
logging program! It was written by Julian Langlo, LB5QG. You will need to
have Java installed on your computer for it to run properly.

If you plan to use the program, please test it out before the contest to
make sure that it is working on your computer, and feel free to reply to
