Seven years ago we were at or approaching the solar minimum. I remember  
being at PJ2T for CQWW CW in 2007 and 2008 - on 10 meters we had  something 
150 and 35 QSOs, respectively.
 
I hope interest holds up when we head back down the cycle, though I don't  
expect it to do so. I for one know that I won't be around seriously in the 
SSB  tests when the whole world is trying to squeeze into 20 meters at the 
same  time.
