Come play in the RTTY Sprint this Saturday evening (00-04z, Sunday, 12
October). Besides being a lot of fun, the RTTY Sprint is one of the best
contests for building operating skill.

If you find the Sprint format intimidating, so did everyone at first. It
gets easier with experience, and a lot of fun! One tactic is to set your
two VFOs 10kHz or so apart and alternate QSOs between them, CQing so that
you don't have to win the "jump ball" (pile-up). After 30 minutes on a
band, even the smallest station will be in high demand as a new call sign to
log.

Familiarize yourself with the rules at http://ncjweb.com/Sprint-Rules.pdf

Form a team with other club members or buddies around the continent. The
team member call signs need to be submitted prior to the start at 00z Sunday
at http://ncjweb.com/rttysprintteamreg/

Practice

Join the 30-minute practice Friday night to check out your antennas,
station, software, operating style, etc.:

0230-0300z, Saturday, 11 October (Friday evening, NA time)

And, on Thursday evening NA time (0145-0215z, Friday, 10 October) is the
weekly NCCC RTTY Sprint session which can serve as another practice. (It's
also a great way to maintain your honed operating skill by joining this
weekly informal event. See http://www.ncccsprint.com/ for more information.
