I do most all my contesting on 160 Meters where a significant amount of the
contacts are with folks running low power to their 'bed springs'.
Invariably, I will work for 1, 2 or even 3 minutes to pull out a weak one,
AND IT IS A DUPE!!!!
In the recent ARRL 160 contest I had one station (a weak one; he never got
his amp turned on) who called in FOUR times.
As expressed by Mike below, I guess it goes with the territory. I just go
ahead and log them and carry on. Not much else one can do.

I've done some contesting from the Bahamas as C6AUM, and often I have been
the only C6A multiplier available on the band. I frequently have dupes
call when I'm running. I assume they are looking for an insurance contact
in the fear that they may not be in the log after our first QSO. In fact,
I've had a several instances where I've worked the same station three times
on a band during a contest! While it's easier (and the better practice) to
go ahead and work them again (and again), it can get frustrating, but I
guess it goes with the territory.
