Barry,

Win X has had a reputation for doing things like this after every major
update.

I would also STRONGLY suggest that you recheck ALL of your privacy related
settings. You may find that a great many options that you turned off have
been turned back on.

You will also, more likely than not, find that many other Micro$oft features
that you may have disabled or deleted are back. (Such as, a camera on a
system without one, wireless connectivity on a system without a wireless
network adapter, OneNote and OnDrive, etc.)

We could have a long discussion on why this is done, but it would be outside
of the realm of contesting. So this is not the place.

Suffice to say, though, if you want to keep your private information
private, check the system out!

73, ron w3wn

Subject: [CQ-Contest] Win TEN fails to reactivate second monitor after
Creator Edition Update

My notebook never SLEEPs nor Hibernates; it remains running with the top
closed with a second monitor that is turns off after 30 minutes in Power
Settings.

After Creator Edition update, the second monitor did not reactivate.

I had to either power the monitor off/on (the power light was yellow

in this state), or disconnect/connect the HDMI cable.

Google found a note that disabling the Power Settings option "Fast Startup"

check box ("change unavailable Power Settings") should eliminate the
problem.

It did.
