On audacity, you can do it automatically.
It's under "Chains" if anyone needs assistance drop me a note.
I took all 18,000+ files from Gerry's DVK machine.
Ran them through "Normalize" then ran them through the "Equalize" with
the mic freq response of the Heil HC-4 mic element.
Like I said 18K files and only a few mouse clicks.

call again.
