Greetings Diddlers:

A lively group last week, and 20 meters is really starting to come alive. Of
course that means 80 and 160 are sorta difficult out here on the left coast.
Way too much sunlight where I’m at!

As a friendly reminder, don’t forget to pause for just a bit before calling
someone who is inheriting the frequency. This allows the guy leaving the
frequency to ask for a fill, and given the summer noisy conditions it’s more
likely to happen for the next few months. So take a breath and listen for the
‘TU’ or ‘R’ or whatever might be sent to be sure the last Q was completed. The
management thanks you.

The frequency move seemed to work out well, so let’s continue to use +x.084 and
up (except for 160) and stay out of the way of the new FT4 modes. During the
week there is plenty of room.

The upcoming weekend has the greatest contest for those of you who like BIG
scores: the VOLTA RTTY test. I mean, one winner last year had over
1,000,000,000 points! Now that’s some serious points.
So don’t miss out on a big score over the weekend and make sure your diddle
machine is ready. Please join us Thursday evening and give it a 30 minute
workout just for fun.
Here are the details for our usual Thursday evening (in NA) get together.
