THANK YOU Pete. Your comment wasn't taken to heart and I know you did not
mean to insult. You are welcome in NB to operate any time you want. In
fact, I encourage fellas to come up to Canada and operate in the ARRL160/SS
and CQP as our local participation in those 3 is less than most other
contests. (for reasons I already stated)
You comment did however, give me another chance to highlight the
discrepancies (unfairness?) because 3 popular contest holdouts choose to
hang onto RAC sections as multipliers instead of Provinces/States.
I honestly wouldn't be worried about PE/MAR....I'd be MORE worried about the
northern areas, maybe ONN, maybe MB and other places where there are few
hams...be that in the USA or Canada.
HNY 2020 everyone. CU in the NAQP CW, where you can be certain I'll be
sending a very proud "NB" ;-D

With apologies to Mike and the other VE9s. my reason in specifying NB was
simply that it's closer to me by a fair distance than Nova Scotia. I've
actually never had any trouble getting MAR in Sweeps, thanks to Mike and
many of those he mentions. But it is a little puzzling - splitting off PEI
but leaving NB and NS in a truncated MAR? I wouldn't be surprised, in
fact, if there are more SS participants from NB than from either PEI or NS.

Although I did not enjoy the slag by Pete, he's actually right. Folks in
general (there are exceptions) don't enjoy having to send "MAR" when they
could be sending PE, NB or NS, so participation is a little lower for
SS/ARRL160 and CQP up here with good reason.
Everyone else in NA gets to do this. Some states/provinces have multiple
sections.
So, while Pete seemingly forgot about me, VE9CB, VE9HF, VE9DX, VE9XX, VE9ML
and everyone else in NB..until the ARRL allows me to send "NB" (where I
really am) I won't make much of (or any) showing in the ARRL160 or
Sweepstakes. (ditto the California QP)..the last 3 holdouts worldwide
clinging tenuously to RAC "sections."

".PEI is a thoroughly delightful place with a couple of big stations. I
suspect the real effect will be to make the Maritime section harder to get.
It's enough to encourage a road trip to New Brunswick

Yeah, cuz we all know.there are no contesters at all in New Brunswick Pete!
Myself, if I was worried about sections it would be VY1 or NNY or something.
