I'm using fldigi to generate RTTY. My FT857d is set to DIG with the
underlying mode set to USB.

According to this manual, that's how it's supposed to be configured:

http://w1hkj.com/FldigiHelp-3.21/html/rtty_page.html

When I ask in my local amateur community if RTTY should be USB or LSB I'm
told that it follows the normal voice SSB convention, LSB below 10 MHz, USB
above 10 MHz.

Traditional RTTY documents appear to say that RTTY is always LSB.

Can anyone point me at a definitive answer? Is there an CQWW "standard", or
something else?

I'm planning on doing a RTTY contest shortly and since this will be my
first I'd like to understand and get it right.
