Thanks to fast work by the log-checker, preliminary results for the CW
Sprint have been posted at https://ncjweb.com/north-american-sprint/.
Congratulations to the category and overlay winners - N3BB is busy working
on the full writeup with Top Tens and other analysis that will be posted
online as soon as it's available. (A version of the full writeup will also
be published in an upcoming issue of NCJ.)
It was good to see more activity, especially some new calls from CWOps and
NAQP CW participants who decided to try a little Sprint action. (You can
keep the Sprint feeling going in Wednesday's CWT and Thursday night NS
sessions.)
There is some news about the February Sprints, both CW and RTTY. The 2021
February CW Sprint and March RTTY Sprint will start ONE HOUR EARLIER at
2300 UTC. September times are UNCHANGED. This will start the contest before
20 meters is closed on the East Coast. The contest duration will still be 4
hours — ending at 0259 UTC instead of the usual 0359 UTC. This is a
temporary change to see if band activity is more balanced with an earlier
start time and evaluate whether to keep that starting time after the
contests.
Good to hear the bands full of Sprinters - and good luck to all in the
upcoming fall and winter contests!
