I signed  up with  the W2RE Puerto Rico station for  ARRL DX SSB to operate  a
serious effort SOAB, NH7A/KP4. After the first 58 minutes of the contest, the
site went down. I emailed W2RE about the situation.

Got a response about 12 hours later the site was back up.

I never made it back to the chair.

Stuff happens.

Since then I have done more research  about remote operation. For contesting,
the operator must have ablity to actually control the site or have someone else
in charge of this task if  constant 24 hour operation is needed.

For causal operation, this is not  required.

The W2RE system today is a  adequate  for causal operation  for many to have
fun.

See you all in the next big one, CQWW,  from somewhere, but probably not as a
remote.

Aloha, Al
