Indeed, I HAVE offered solutions, which have been rejected as changing
the nature of the contest (so that the advantages of those favored by
the simplistic scoring rules for the pencil and paper computing
capabilities of the '50s would be preserved). That simplicity was needed
then, but 80 years later, it's a deterrent to interest in participation
by those around the world not so favored. And since those advantaged by
the scoring rules are those administering the major DX contests, nothing
changes.
