*** Announcing the 2023 Poisson d'Avril Contest ***
The 2022 Poisson d'Avril Contest was an amazing event. It
was the second time in the history of this event that K1DG did
not win.
There was a 103-way tie for first place - a NEW WORLD RECORD!
That is how many contesters made donations to help hams in Ukraine.
Their Official two-ply certificates were mailed (and full rolls to donors
who sent over $100).
These donations have enabled a steady stream of aid to be sent
to Ukraine, including radio equipment and accessories, medical
supplies, and financial support for families of hams who have died.
Dayton Hamvention Ham of the Year DM9EE has been a major
facilitator of this project as part of his many activities supporting
Ukraine.
This year, rather than the Pd'A Committee collecting donations, we
are taking a different approach. Buying, packing, and shipping all
that toilet paper last year took way more time than expected! The Pd'A
staffers demanded that we change the administration process.
Entrants who send contributions of at least $50 to any of the organizations
listed below doing relief work in Ukraine and forward a copy of the receipt
to
Pd'A HQ will receive an electronic Pd'A certificate.
If you want to pretend you actually operated the contest, be advised that
DXLog is the Official Logging Software of the Pd'A and has implemented
the Official Pd'A Rules. QSOs with or by Pd'A HQ Station K1DG count
1,000,000 points. QSOs with or by other stations count zero points.
Multipliers are arbitrary, and like the TV show "Whose Line is it Anyway?",
the points really don't matter.

This one has a ham radio connection: S53R/9N7AA/T6AA/ST2AR and
