2024 YDXA K3Y Special Event – July 27, 2024

The David Kalter Memorial Youth DX Adventure (YDXA) is participating in a 2024
Special Event as K3Y during the IOTA contest on July 27, 2024. The K3LR Contest
Group, North Coast Contesters and Contest University (CTU) are hosting K3Y and
the YDXA for this event. Four youths will participate in the RSGB IOTA contest
as a team operating on 40, 20, 15 and 10 meters - both SSB and CW.
This is the second year a Youth DX Adventure event is being hosted in the USA
at K3LR. The 2024 adventure will be truly special for the David Kalter kids and
their parents. There were housing issues for the anticipated YDXA international
trip which will occur next year.
The Youth Team of Ian Alkema (KI8NA) and Lily Colon (W8LIL) are joined by
alumni/Youth Mentors Katie Campbell (KE8LQR) and Grace Papay (K8LG). All QSOs
will be made by the youth operators. The trip is sponsored by the Dayton
Amateur Radio Association, K3LR Contest station, CTU and DX Engineering.
