Will it work? Sure. Will it work well enough for what you want? Really only one way to find out. I will note that once upon a time I ran a 160m contest (SPTBDC, I think) QRP, to a ladder-line fed 40m dipole up ~35 feet, into a MONDO link-coupled tuner I had built for just such an occasion. I made contacts. So, "give 'er a go!" I say. 73.
