CT / 8088 / Cursor

Hi all. There was a message on the UK DX Cluster this morning asking for help
with a problem using CT on an old 8088.
The problem is that when using either CT V6 or V7 on the 8088, there is no
cursor in the callsign or number fields
The poster was aware that this may be an old problem (maybe just incompatibilty
of 8088's and V6 / V7) but asked if anyone could confirm this or suggest a
possible solution.
Can anyone help, please?
