If you are using the LPT port for keying, unplugging the keying adapter 
will unkey the transmitter; you can immediately plug the adapter back into
the computer and the transmitter will remain unkeyed for some reason. 
Clearly not a solution, but knowing this helps...Steve, KO0U/4
