A year or two ago I tried sending CW using CT under OS/2 and it wasn't
very good. Today, by chance, I tried it again and it sounded great!
What happened?
Today I was using CT Version 9 under OS/2 Warp. Of course, I wasn't
running any other programs at the time. I was in a 24 line DOS
window. I was sending at 32 WPM. I have a 486DX/33. Whether the
improvement is due to a change in CT or to my upgrade to OS/2 Warp, I
don't know.
I first went to OS/2 because I couldn't use the 386 version of CT to
print QSL labels under Windows, but I could under OS/2. (My J76EK log
was too big for the 8086 version of CT which would have run fine for
QSLing under Windows.)
I have always taken OS/2 down and operated CT under DOS for CW contests.
Maybe thats not necessary any more...
