As you can see in the note below, VE7TCP's server will be moving, and the
mailing list will be down for a few days sometime in the 2nd half of
August. If you have any concerns about the down time, please send mail to
Lyndon or myself. More details will follow as the time of the move grows
closer.

Subject: ADMIN: VE7TCP On The Move

From: Lyndon Nerenberg (VE7TCP) <lyndon@ve7tcp.ampr.org>

VE7TCP is on the move. In late August I'm moving to VE6 (Edmonton) to
take on a new job (working for a company that markets e-mail software,
strangely enough ...)

The logistics of the move mean that the ve7tcp.ampr.org servers will
be down for close to a week while all the hardware is shipped out
and reinstalled. The dates for the move are not yet confirmed, but
we're looking at sometime during the last two weeks of August. I will
try to give at least a weeks notice prior to the move.

Due to the extended downtime the move will cause I'm going to "bit-bucket"
all mailing list e-mail during the move, and for a couple of days after
the system comes back up. This is to avoid having the machines melt down
from the torrent of "is the machine alive" messages that are bound to come
in from all the people that don't read this message ... More details
will follow as we get closer to D-day.

There is an upside to all this! Shortly after the system is moved I'm
going to replace the whole mess with some new hardware (again). The
motherboard I picked up for the mailing list exploder machine has been
acting up, as you've all noticed, and I've decided to stop messing
with it and just throw a new Pentium at the problem :-) We'll also
be getting some additional disk space out of the deal. And, my new
employer has agreed to provide a T1 internet link for the servers.
