Have just got a 1000MP. It is very good!

Trying to hook it up to a laptop (COMPAQ) but can not get it to work =
properly. The laptop has one COM-port and one LPT-port.

Regardless of whether I use LPT1 or COM1 for the keying everything is OK =
with WIN95 in DOS-mode or in DOS if I have no radio connected and the =
setup also says so. No problem changing bands etc. I have edited the =
autoexec.bat to include CT in the PATH.

If I connect the 1000MP via a serial cable (not a null-modem-cable) and =
adjust the setup accordingly (using COM1 for the radio) everything works =
OK using WIN95 (in DOS -mode) but everything is very, very, slow. If I =
press F1 etc it takes 3-4 seconds before it is activated. Band changes =
are also OK but also very, very slow before they are activated.

If I do the same after having started up the laptop in DOS-mode the =
CT-program responds as it should, there are no delays any longer. The =
CW-keying is OK, but the band change, however, is not OK. I can not =
always get the radio to change to the proper band and CT itself ALWAYS =
returns to the 20 meter band regardless of the band the radio is in. I =
have tried other settings for the com-ports including using =
PCMCIA-cards, but no change. And it does not matter if I change from the =
LPT1 to a COM-port for the keying.

There is no difference either using CT version 9.27, 9.34 or 9.35beta or =
if I change to a FUJITSU laptop. =20

Where do I go wrong? Any suggestions are welcome!
73!
