Hi All,

I have two laptop computers, each with one serial port, each running
DOS.

I want to simultaneously
1. have each laptop controlling a rig, and
2. have the two laptops networked

This usually requires two serial ports per computer.

My questions are:
1. Has anyone done this already? How?

2. is it possible (in actual practice) to network the laptops using
the bidrectional parallel ports?

3. Can PCMCIA USB ports be used in the DOS environment to network
the two laptops
without the use of ethernet adaptors? Where would
I get driver software for that?

I would greatly appreciate any help I can get on this subject.

Thanks,

Rod KM6SN
