Thanks to all of you for your ideas.......
I'm starting to work through this. So far I uninstalled the board, deleted
all the files and set Com1 and Lpt1 in CMOS (instead of AUTO). This got the
machine back to normal.
Interestingly, after I changed the CMOS settings, Logic 5 would not run and
had to be reinstalled. I will keep all informed on my progress.

When, in Logic5, I tried to set up my TNC on the new COM2, I got a
"hardware" error message and the machine locked up.
