I just wanted to let people know about a potential problem that there might be
in CT (all versions after 9.27) with the VHF or VHFS contest. The problem will
only occur if you invoke CT using the log filename called out with the .bin
extension. That is, if you start up CT like:

C\: ct -now mylog.bin

or

C\: ct mylog.bin

or something similar, you may encounter a problem. The easiest way to avoid
this is to *always* refer to the filename without the .bin extension. That is,
start CT like this:

C\: ct -now mylog

or

C\: ct mylog

CT will still use the actual file called mylog.bin for your log whether you
invoke CT with mylog or mylog.bin, but there seems to be a problem when doing a
WRITELOG after invoking CT with the filename specified as mylog.bin. This
will only happen on VHF or VHFS contests (all that I know about right now) and
only if you do a WRITELOG. A WRITEARRL does not seem to cause a problem. I
hope that I have made this clear. If you have any questions, send me email.

tnx es gl
