Hi Bill,

Yes, I read the message and the subject.

One time I had a problem that allowed one-way communication from the
computer to the radio but not from the radio to the computer AND it worked
with NA but NOT CT. That happened about two years ago. It was a problem
with the MAX232CWE chip on the control board.

I have had two other failures with components on the Control Board from
nearby lightning strikes which have resulted in other comm failures. Not
all failures have the same "symptoms" - therefore my suggestions to you.

You indicated that it was not the radio or the computer but not that you had
swapped identical components and then "retested". It is easy to miss the
obvious (I know that I have!) therefore my suggestion in case you did not
think of it.

You may have the same problem or a different problem from the few that I
have experienced. I was suggesting things that you might try to eliminate
some possibilities.

Whatever it is, good luck in finding it.
