I've just installed a K1EA DVP in a contest computer that is linked to my
Kenwood TS850. Both units function well together with one exception and that
is the monitor audio level from the DVP.

I don't seem to be able to reduce the monitor level to a point that is
really comfortable to my ears for the long haul of a contest. While I can
set the monitor to NoMon, I don't like not being able to hear the transmit
audio. Turning the Mon level down to zero using the front control of the
TS850 does not reduce the DVP (monitor) audio enough -- it's still too loud
for my ears. Has anyone got this same setup or had experience reducing the
DVP audio level -- is there something on the DVP that I'm missing that will
allow me to control the DVP output level?

I know the Mon function on the 850 is working because with the DVP offline,
the control for Mon volume works just as it should -- I can raise and lower
Mon volume from nothing to a pleasant listening level. So it appears to me
the DVP has some sort of overriding monitor audio control that I have not
found yet.
