I ended up installing cygwin into my VM-ware windows emulator.

After copying the newly installed c:\cygwin\bin\cygwin1.dll to
c:\windows\system, the c2a conversion worked (in a DOS box under
VM-ware+Win98).

I don't recommend taking this route, however. It's a big download.

Chances are, c2a can be made to work, by just having
c:\windows\system\cygwin1.dll in place (I haven't tried this).

Is the previous version of c2a (that doesn't need cygwin1.dll) still
available? I don't use Windows at home. It would be really useful to do the
conversion in dos or in freedos/dosemu under Linux.

Even better: is there a Linux version for c2a?
